Analysis of Human Nature

Life of guilt and shame

By Seema PatelPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

I am an avid observer

of the human psyche.

I am in midlife,

have seen enough.

I found patterns:

people will betray,

but will not say sorry.

They will not accept guilt,

carry the baggage

on their shoulders,

as if to feel better.

Will cover it up,

sweep dust of shame

under the carpet,

engage in blame games,

and then kiss death.

That's human life.

No need to call

ourselves demi-gods.

We are supreme apes

but when misled,

we are devolved monkeys.

Such a captivating poem and well written, good luck.

  • Supreme apes and devolved donkeys, that's truly who humans are. Loved your poem!

There is a fact that must be understood and admitted: all goodness is linked to interests. I have never believed that there are the purest and the most evil people in this world. Some bad people are not completely evil, and some good people are not completely good either. Human nature has two sides and there are so many possibilities. You can't be sure that someone is completely good, nor can you believe that they will always be good. Reflecting on the cost behind it, sometimes I also sigh that the Internet treats me as it did at the beginning, which is really ridiculous.
