An Ode To Jewelry

Tourquoise, silver, diamond and gold, costume and the real thing.

Such a simple thing

Jewelry is bling

So many uses

Some are bold

Others are gold

Then there are misuses

*

Who would ever wear those

I can just stare and oppose

Why would anyone wear that

Turquoise goes with silver

Even a nice little sliver

I can be a brat!

*

Diamonds, and gold

the more the better I'm told

Real diamonds, I prefer

I wear only the real thing

I simply love the bling

For anything else, I would refer.

*

Birthstones must be real

on a mother's ring, I squeal.

I don't know how it could be less

Without the real stones, it is costume

Do you want to wear it, I fume?

Oh, what a mess.

*

Jewelry is simply beautiful

in all shapes and sizes, joyful

it will turn a head when wearing

the perfect set. I am all for

costume and abhor

real diamonds with cz's or any mixing

*

Some will say just never mind

is it really that important to put kind

with kind? My answer is always yes.

This should be so simple

just like treating a pimple.

A wedding ring is okay to mix I guess.

*

Watches are back as some use them

to measure their steps and ahem

talk on the phone. That can be

annoying. Have you heard

a conversation from a nerd?

Making many around you angry!

*

What happened to ordinary jewelry?

Should I have written about celery?

Celery is pretty ordinary.

As I sat thinking about a topic

I looked at my hands and it was my pick.

I thought it will be extraordinary!

*

Well, now it is not for sure.

I love my collection, sir

Lots of turquoise, diamonds, and gemstones

however, it may not be ordinary enough

there really is a lot of stuff

to consider when it comes to gold, silver, and stones!

I don't know much about jewelry, but that was a nice poem to read 😊. I like how you rhymes "consume" with "I fume" 👏🏽
