Breathe

Inhale

Exhale

Inhale again

Keep breathing until you can’t anymore

And even then

When your body lays on the floor

And you wish for the night to take you

Keep breathing

There’s a memory I have

And I do not know it’s name

Only that it plagues me in the night

And in the day

And while Thinking of you

Takes my breath away

And leaves me, even now, with fear

I wish the memory

Would disappear once more

Incomplete

Bits and pieces

Blurred images

Blurred memories

No closure

What happened next?

What happens next?

When it’s all I can do not to think of you

And yet

The pain still stays

The memories still remain

Flooding back

I’m drowning

And while the waves overtake me

I breathe

Inhale

Exhale

Inhale again

Lungs filled with water

Unable to scream

Inhale

Exhale

Inhale again

Again

Again

Again
