time improbably reversing

a mother’s love rekindles

Mary holding our grand babe in wonderment

filling my eyes with tears

like an impossible dream

the years melting away

in my precious wife’s expression

the love shining in her eyes

reviving a vision of her holding

our own babes to her heart

Oh, goodness, but you made me cry. Tell me how any parent could not read that and find the mist of tears. Loved the emotion your poem packed in so few words so much! The wonderful pictures contribute so much (adorable grandbaby).

  • Awww, your photos and poem are so sweet! Loved them so much!

  • Preciously beautiful, John. Life tends to repeat itself or as you so poetically put it, “time improbably reversing.” It’s so wonderful when we’re able to rekindle an emotion from many decades ago. Exceptional work, John.

This is just beautiful, sir. Given both our loves of diving into the darkest recesses of being human, I still marvel that we can produce such vividly beautiful work.I hope this is included in the winner's list, because the picture is lovely and the sheer joy on both bairn and Mary's faces is fully evident. Can see why you took inspiration and in such a eloquent and heartfelt manner. Well done, sir!
