An Affair with Death

a contemptuous paramour

Death

The inevitable spirit

That's bound to take over

Yes

I fear it

But nothing stops me

from playing with it

It may seem preposterous

to get so close

But I'm getting quite dexterous

at this ludicrous game

It's irrevocable

to adore

this contemptuous paramour

I loved this poem! I had the comparison of the moth to the flame in the back of my mind the whole time. This is deliciously written! I'm a new subscriber! 😉
