Amor Fati

Life is mixed bag of blessings and curses

By Seema PatelPublished 7 months ago 1 min read

I was out on a walk

saw some plants blooming,

some plants shedding leaves.

I thought of humans,

when one person is savoring spring,

excited for summer's splendor,

another may be enduring autumn,

preparing for long winter.

As the wagon wheel of life

keeps rolling,

some will be at the zenith,

some at the nadir.

So—no comparisons!

At least, not the kind

that lets this thief of joy

affect the peace of mind.

Acceptance of life

as a mixed bag

of blessings and curses

is the way to go.

Amor fati

the love for one’s own destiny—

is the life philosophy we need.

A lovely read for this morning. I think my whole life has been like one of those Game of Thrones winters, and I am seeing about a tentative spring now. I will see how things go. LOL
