Ambiguous

True Colors Challenge Submission

By Leilani KristinaPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Honey is my complexion

Ambiguous is my recognition

Frequent is the placement displacement

Let me spit my definition:

See Auburn is my Blood

Reminiscent of the Chiefs bore of Earths clay that is my Mother

Black eyelashes like my grit of the African soulfulness from the Ancestors from the Slave ship

Deepest hue of Brown is my mindset like my forefathers who've endured colonization's lashing whip

Gold is my heart like the dynasty from the East, yeah the ones COVID instigated hateful kicks

They came from Khan, powerful are the peoples over comers of wars

Or even Brown like the Warriors from the Islands of the Aqua Seas much like my eyes.

Chamorro pride until the day I die

We were the first long before tourism

I can not forget to mention our Survivorism

Not so unlike the desert that is my spirit sands, the Mother Desert Sahara

Now a destination for the sake of "glamour"

"Educated" is my voice like the star wearer ancestors, history knows them as the self sufficient they suffered Porajmos

The Nomads

White like those from UK's Lands, the distant Royals

Ecru, the cor of Ibérica coast - the color of my graceful dance full of fire and heritages toils

The sacred entities are whence grew my hair coils

Without them I wouldn't exist to stand proud, powerful, and loyal.

surreal poetry
