Amalgam

an ode to us crows

you say i'm too dark

I guess you can't

see the stars

that twinkle

in between the cracks

left there

by my scars.

You could glimpse

a galaxy

If you dared to walk

the road

inside of me

it's paved with dirt

and oceans deep

paved by all the shadows

I can't unsee

You wish I was

a butterfly

light,

and full of

springtime,

but I don't mind,

keeping treasures

and living

as the crow flies.

There are rainbows

in my wings,

my crown

is made of

fireflies,

the mirror shows

an amalgam,

where dark and light

collide
