Alone

Anxious Collection

By Jessica ConwayPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I’m falling deeper

Liquid dark and dense like molasses

Cloying and sucking at my skin

I come up for air and white noise fills

My mouth, nose, ears, and lungs

Traveling out in waves ripping through my bloodstream

I am numb

Bring forth my heart and crush it

Until a thin rust blows through a field of flowers

Shredding the petals madly as they come to rest on tar

Bubbling and hot

Teeth rotting, nose bleeding, and tongue burning into infinite hell

Intense mastery of bone marrow

Twisting into shapes of devils and angels

Taunting a smile to crack my face down the middle

Craters rupture with lava spewing from my eyes

And you notice nothing

sad poetry
