Alone and Limited in the Quiet of the Soul
A poem on loneliness, love and life

For 9 months you were never alone
Heard the sounds in your underwater world
The darkness enveloped you protectively, perfectly
A kick the only form of communication
Childhood dependence kept you company
You don’t know it, but you are alone
You must make choices and shed your ego
Perhaps you are lonely?
Growing up, you perceive the situation
Individuals become individualists
Engaged in companionship
Yet always alone
You lie next to the dearest person
The act’s fusion is the closest
The explosion of the senses
Yet you are alone
The skin's barrier sets the limit
You fill it out
Others want to be in your skin
But are you lonely?
No one knows your innermost thoughts
You only share the surface
At the core lives the realization
That you are alone.
The human fate is eternally to be alone
Even amidst the crowd
Sight and hearing, feeling, pain
All of it is only you
Everyone can feel lonely
Communication stunted by violence
Seeking coexistence in the eternal flow of emotions
Because you are always alone.
One day life reaches the end station
Lucky if someone followed your fight
Not lonely but loved
But the exit is alone
No one can follow the way.
