Aloki

Angel of Death

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 4 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

In the never-ending darkness,

Surrounded by so many other transitioning souls,

I saw you

Tall, majestic and so incredibly strong

Your arms (or were they wings?) outstretched toward me

You are not the Angel of Darkness

You are the Angel of True Light

Multi-colored rays emanating like a halo around you.

You were the welcoming light in the darkness that I was drawn to

A portal covered in gossamer fabric

“Come home, child” you said.

And I walked to you and

Let you wrap those golden white wings around me

In such a warm caring embrace.

So warm, so safe, so loving;

Such warmth

My pain was gone from the injuries was gone

And I melted into your embrace.

You flew me to a home I had remembered only in my dreams

And to think, I thought you would be frightening

Wearing a black robe, carrying a scythe and inciting fear

I thought you would terrify me

But you just loved me, and saved me

You are the light and love and warmth and beauty

Why was I so scared of you?

I did not dissolve and I did not disappear like the nonbelievers

Choose as their truth

You are not a demon, there is no hell

There is only warmth, light, love and guidance and forgiveness
