All that I Deserve

Forgetting first to know myself

And all her deepest essence,

I stooped so as to bring to self

The love of hearts I knew much less;

I searched and tried a hundred times,

Wondering why resisted tides

Hit my ship so hard she cracked

Alas! My world, it all came down...

I set aside my crown,

And with no shield to save my head

Their stones it knocked her down.

Remembering now that no one else

But I, can show the deserving how

To pry, recline and tow the line

Respect and love both intertwine.

Or no one else may know the test of how

What goes right starts as such—from the beginning.

In perfect vision the stacks arrange

As I envision my ships that sail

In chariot gallops, my heart! She hops!

Observing that my happiness

Wrapped gently in her tenderness

begs that my standards

She does not regress;

And so they ordered back to me

The gifts they now must receive—

A love that grows and never dies

A life that wakes a thousand lives

May 'luxury' not deceive my eyes

And may 'she' never leave my side.
