Air

an improvisation

overwhelmed and astonished and drowned

crippled by anguish, internal welts

red and red and red

man, maybe if dead

you're going to love it

it'll go by so fast

oh, i see red

but feel black and blue

hoping it's true

but betting it isn't

why do we always bet

against

what is best

for us?

sulking and dreadful

panicked and partial

-ly awake

hardly anything

a mistake?

is this right?

should i?

but then you

and instead of it all falling

it comes together

puzzle pieces fall neatly

don't slam

the edges all align

i don't need to force them

into mine

enthused, eager, delving

head first

into deep waters

but alive

these waters are dark

but the sharks are gone

the voice lied

and here you are

still, safe

on the other side

This was AMAZING! I'm losing my mind at how well you used poetic form to enhance the emotions in the poem. I loved this!

  • That ending felt reassuring. But I'm sorry if I misinterpreted it. Loved your poem!
