How lucky we are
a free-verse poem for gratitude

I'm feeling so tired after work.
How lucky are we to have jobs available where we can make a living for ourselves.
I don't know why my mother/father/sibling/friend has been treating me like that.
How lucky are we to have people we love who we are concerned about. How lucky we are to have relationships to mend and build.
I have to wake up early to go to the doctor.
How lucky are we to have somewhere to go when we are feeling ill.
My medication has been making my stomach hurt.
How lucky are we to have treatment options for our illnesses.
It has been so cold outside lately.
How lucky are we to get to experience the many seasons of this world.
My home/room/apartment doesn't have as much room as I would like.
How lucky are we to have so many things we enjoy that they do not fit in our spaces.
I want to continue this hobby, but I don't have the money for it.
How lucky are we to have so many things we enjoy that our pockets just can't fund all of them.
I haven't been sleeping very comfortably.
How lucky are we to have a bed to sleep on, a roof to sleep under, and walls to sleep within.
I feel that I've gained too much weight...
How lucky are we to have a body that supports us when we need it.
I've been struggling to maintain my diet.
How lucky are we to have so many choices for food available to us.
I don't get to go out very often.
How lucky are we to be preoccupied with family and work.
My computer/phone has been acting so slow lately.
How lucky are we to have electronics to use so much.
My car isn't very flashy.
How lucky are we to have a vehicle to bring us from point A to point B.
My commute to work/school is so long.
How lucky are we to be able to travel so far for our work/school.
I'm frustrated about... I wish this was... I don't like that...
How lucky are we to have so many things to complain about.
How lucky are we to have dreams and wishes to strive towards.
How lucky are we to live in a world where we are preoccupied by thoughts longing what we don't have, rather than fearing what we already have being taken away.

I have been seeing a lot of gratitude posts on social media featuring scenes from Winnie the Pooh, that inspired me to create this post. It's so important to celebrate and appreciate the things with have.
I hope this will be the first in a series of gratitude posts. I also invite you to make some of your own. I would love to see a trend on Vocal of these kinds of things.
