Introduction
This is a poem for the challenge below. I will use the nonet form
The music is "Wouldn't It Be Nice" by The Beach Boys for the opening lines
Wouldn't it be nice if we were older?
Then we wouldn't have to wait so long
And wouldn't it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong?
Adultish

When You're A Child Can't Wait To Grow Up
Have Money, A Car, Beer To Sup
But The More Things That We Learn
Make Us See At Each Turn
There Is More To See
Lost-ish, That's Me
So I Look
For A
Way

This is truly lovely, Mike; the song evokes such nostalgic, lost-ish feelings - and your nonet is a brilliant reflection on the respective yearning and different perspectives of childhood and adulthood. Stellar entry!! :)
This is lovely. Well done.
Such a great focal point to take for this poem Mike!
Fantastic!!! The song and words are fabulous!!!
A Link to the past, a link to the future, but time goes all to fast, and before you know it time is up, and we look at the younger generation to carry the torch. Great poem. !!! Nicely Done with a lot of truth to it.
Beach Boys are awesome, this nonet is fabulous, and your AI pic is gorgeous
I love this. There's this balance we need between being young and old, no?

You spend half your childhood wanting to be older. Then you turn 50 and wish you where 18-38 I did still do β¦οΈβ¦οΈβ¦οΈ
I love the beach boys, brought back memories from my childhood when I was listening to their albums on repeat and doing mahjong. Adult-ish is spot on.
Very true. This is neat Mike! I also love the beach boys plus the perspective in your picture too - itβs effective.
