Aching for A New Dawn

Emotional Snip

By C.Z. Munu Published 5 years ago 1 min read

The window was open, and she could hear the faint grinding of a lawn mower. The incessant rattle allowed her mind to escape her. She tried to concentrate but the fading screams of children at the school across the street had her longing for her own child. Her house filled with the smell of moist freshly watered plants and glowing sunshine. The sun surrounded her clear blue coffee cup and kept the liquid gold warm. As she glanced out the window, she realized that everything had changed this weekend. Her ability to forecast the future had disappeared and her knowledge of the past was forgotten. She had released herself from shackles and her entire body ached from the calamity of becoming free. She had been told that she was a ‘natural’, natural at causing disasters, but she thought differently.
