Abandon the Green Lantern

If that lantern still glows green at the end of your dock, I don't see it anymore.

The parties have stopped, and I have packed up the house,

marked it for sale, and moved on to somewhere new.

I do not need to see the distance to know you were always just out of reach.

The glow has lost its allure, and I am finding a mutual love,

a home, and lights to long for in a softer hue.

Beckon to someone else's wicked sense of envy and self-destruction.

I read that book, and I refuse to play out that ending.
