If Only ….Too Shy To Tell (#1)

Image generated by author in NightCafe_2025

If I told you that I loved you,

You’d probably start to cry,

If I told you that I needed you,

Would you think it was a lie,

So I’ll just keep on admiring you,

Because I’m too shy to try,

I’ll just go on dreaming,

Until the day I die,

To tell you how much I love you,

And explain the reasons why.

50 Shades of Love — Just For You (#2)

Words are hollow,

If we don’t know what they mean.

Actions can be shallow.

Thoughts are just emotions,

Traveling through our mind.

But love, now that is special,

Transcends all matters of time.

So when I say I love you,

Words, actions, thoughts -

They are all for you.

More Than Just One Day — Immeasurable love (#3)

By Geilan Malet-Bates on Unsplash

I need more than just one single day,

To tell you how I feel.

My love is deeper than the deepest ocean,

Higher than the highest hill.

Bigger than all the sky you see,

You are my lover, everything to me.

All my love is reserved for you,

Kept safe inside my heart,

It’s yours and only yours,

To do with as you will.

💟💟💗💗💟💟

[Author’s note: A ten-line poem is often referred to as a Decastich poem. This term is used to describe any poem consisting of exactly ten lines, regardless of the specific form or structure used within those lines.

The three poems were originally published earlier this year as shorter separate poems. They have been expanded and combined in the new format to tell the story of how love can develop from a timid encounter, to an awakening of feelings and mature into something lasting.]

Till next time,

Calvin, great work. I liked the first poem the very best - why? I don't know, it just flowed and spoke to me! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I had never heard of Decastich poetry. Thanks❣️

C'mon, Sir! It deserves a TS! The first poem? Uff! When you said, "To tell you how much I love you, And explain the reasons why." It felt like crying!! It is soo beautiful 🥺 And that, "So when I say I love you, Words, actions, thoughts " was so much more than merely saying, I love you! That was your heart right there, existence, and soul! "It’s yours and only yours, To do with as you will." I'll remember this line for a long time, now. Sir, I'd like to share something. I think poetry should always be meant to deliver your heart. Deliver your message and your thoughts in the most calmest way possible. I don't think it requires the use of the most fancy and difficult words. I mean, if I were to write a poem of him(No one found yet 😆, I'd not try to educate him with difficult vocab, I'll just speak of my love with the most simple words ever! But, it's the emotion, that'll make it sound profound and deep. That's exactly what I see in here! Loved it ❤❤🙌

I love how love could be yet —still —so innocent. In the early stages, when it has not yet confessed. That is what (If only ... Too shy to tell #1) makes me think of. I love how you taught what love entails, in 50 shades of love. Words, actions, and thoughts. 'Keep safe inside my heart' I love this line. It speaks of how much you would protect that person from all the shades of hurt. A Decastich poem, sounds like a no stress no fuss poetic form. That's nice. Well done for expanding your precious poems and because their words were short, expanding them to turn them into this very illuminating piece about how love can be or should be. 🤗❤️

  • They are lovely and I have probably done a few by accident

  • I didn't know there was a term for ten line poems. All three of your poems were so sweet. I loved them all!
