a thousand different remembered moments

April Poem Challenge

If I could venture backwards in time

and see history made anew,

the first atom smashed,

Edison’s lightbulb,

witness the Promethean gift of fire,

I would say no to them all

to revisit any of a thousand different

remembered moments with you.

Just stunning! Really loved this one, John! Would have made a killer entry for the love in 50 words challenge with an extra line or two! But of course it's splendid as is!

Well-wrought and very sweet, John! I'm certain that when Prometheus gifted man with fire, it was this warmth he meant to inspire.
