A Thief In The Day
All you do is steal, hurt, and kill...
Despair, you are a thief in the day‐
you rob me of all joy,
steal the color from eyes,
and kill my smile...
all that's left for you to take is my life‐
but you won't...
because you want me to...
well, let me say to you now,
Despair,
I won't‐
no matter what you say.
A thief in the day‐
under the sun,
all you do is destroy,
burn up all peace,
and shout lies...
all that's left for you to bring an end to is me‐
but you won't...
because you want me to...
well, let me tell you again,
that I won't‐
no matter what you try to spell out in front of me
or what story you try to sell.
I will not join your numbers‐
I refuse to be another one of your sorry statistics.
Despair, you are a thief in the day
holding hostage, all hope, in your process
of taking everything good,
and leaving nothing but ruin behind you.
A burning paradise

About the Creator
Josh Morgan
Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
