How do you keep writing when your trophy case is bare? Keep doing it for God, his children & the culture; life is not always fair.

Always remember that JOY still lives & breathes the morning after you and said loss meet and that persistence, patience, and preparation have a special way of disarming defeat.

Injustice stand down. It is righteousness's time to shine! Now move out of the way before I give you a swift kick in the behind!

I had to check your profile and was stunned to see No awards. How? You are a brilliant writer, keep on and do not stop. Your works are one of the reasons I said I will return to read on Vocal periodically.

Ha ha, that is a kick in the front hind - we all want to fill the cases with all of the trophies...we need all the upliftment that we can get. Some more for me please. Feelings of joy welcome TG.

No one knows better than me about bare trophy cases here. You know that, I know that...if we wrote just for trophies we would have been long gone. Many of us need that swift kick to wake us up. Hey---hugs.

Well done, this felt like a firm but loving push forward. It reminded me that purpose matters more than applause. I needed that reminder today.

Daahlink Tg - Admit it, you do it for you because you SoCan..! Recognition is certainly important. But, those of us who never enter a challenge know that YOU are the BEST judge of you..! And, I'm in awe of you..! jk.bud.in.l.a.

“Keep doing it for God, His children and the culture” Wow. I’m going to try to remember this line. I’ve been in a major funk too. And off vocal I haven’t touched any of my own works in progress for months :( For me, part of the writers block comes from physical injuries and the tiredness that brings, but a larger portion of this failure to create comes from severe jadedness towards the world. Like how can I muster the effort to write when my country is an utter shitshow of fascism, corruption, and ethnocentric thugs terrorizing people who they think arent “American” enough? But it’s helpful to be reminded that writing isn’t just for the writer, art and expression of all kinds and even criticism through art can be necessary. Maybe even more so, during evil times. Anyway, I like the concept of making art with God in mind and with people in mind. Also, for what it’s worth trophies feel good but they’re kind of meaningless in a way. The real value of art, as far as I’m convinced, is in reaching someone else with a piece that offers some emotional resonance, valuable insight, or entertainment. Your writing can interact with others and make their worlds a little bit better and even if it feels small that’s way cooler than any accolade— and it’s the thing that used to motivate me the most until this writer’s block. All said, your writing very often resonates with me, and I hope you win some more recognition for the boost, but more importantly I’m just glad to see your writing, period. Hope you can break your writers block and keep it at bay.
