One of My Best Days

This memory was one of the best days,

One of the days I felt the happiest,

It took place, give or take, sometime in May,

And its main characters are some horses.

The chatter of songbirds surrounded me,

Blending in with a few whinnies and neighs,

I stood by the fence in the blazing heat,

The slight breeze blowing my worries away.

It was a time when life was much simpler,

There was no lingering pain haunting me,

I was barely even a teenager,

Oftentimes I long for this memory.

It is quite brief, just a second or two,

But I decided to share it with you.
