A Subtle Burn

A Love like That

By NitsuaPublished 4 months ago 1 min read
My Husband and I (pronouns he/him/his)

You are stuck to me like Rubber Cement,

And Darlin’ are you heaven sent!

You light my fire wild and unruly,

You take me higher, while you school me.

You fill me with rage and disappointment!

You test my sage and holy ointment!

You make me cry, you make scream,

But still; never wake me from this dream.

You are a gift wrapped in unique clothing,

So beautiful to me, strange and unknowing.

I’d never go back to a time before you,

I am your paper, you are my glue.

By chance, we kiss each other in the 3rd degree,

Love is the healing salve, that will bring you back to me.
