A sonnet of home.

Through darkened nights of shrouded paths,

With storms to come, and aftermaths,

To toss and twirl, to turn aside,

On every corner where it, reside,

The scorn of wind, the disdain of air,

Where the heart would flutter with want and care,

Waters rise, droplets, many a volley!

To overwhelm and announce such folly,

The coldest scorn, the path then torn, the earth to split asunder,

The foundations strong, to endure so long, not to yield, nor to be plunder,

Through every weapon forged, despite no sight of relief,

The house then stood firm, despite the cunning of the thief!

It is not why we go through, or what we must condone,

But rather, how confidently we choose, to lean upon the stone...
