Tropical hot breeze
ruffles my coarse fur.
My home in the trees,
Brownish gray blur.
**
Treetops so high,
Good for me, as I am shy.
It’s a place to sleep,
And count my sheep.
**
Raindrops,
Go,
Drip drop,
Plip-plop,
Moistening the wild green crops.
Then it stops.
**
The echoes,
of the rainforest
begin their bellows.
**
Chirping birds,
buzzing cicadas,
serenading frogs,
and whispering rustling leaves.
**
Lulls me into being lazy,
In this enchanting land so hazy.
**
Hanging around,
It is my kind of play.
I do it all day.
**
Upside down,
All around,
To the side, like a clown,
In my tropical compound.
**
For I am the slowest,
Mammal of all, and that’s okay.
**
Eating my leaves and fruits,
With some sap and insects,
A daily forage is one of my pursuits.
**
I know how to live life,
with not a care in the world,
You should really give it a whirl.

This is such a cute poem. I especially like the final stanza. I wish we could all be more like the sloth. Maybe we'd have fewer people in the world with anxiety disorders--myself included. Well done.
Daphsam, this poem is charming! I'd love to hang out with a sloth after reading it!
So beautifully written, Daphsam. I think you are on Medium, too; I feel like I have come across your profile there; I can't highlight it here, but I really loved these words from your poem: Lulls me into being lazy, In this enchanting land so hazy. Beautiful! 💗💗
