A Rocky Mountain Hi

God’s Country

By Earl W. PearlPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Tourists love our great sightseeing

Some like climbing, some like skiing

Colorado has a million things to do

They get goosebumps, even shivers

From our summits to our rivers

In the distance there’s a bighorn sheep or two

We have panning for prospecting

Many trails for disconnecting

But no outlets for you gadget loving geeks

Aspen trees and Rocky Mountains

Waterfalls beat city fountains

Oh the beauty of the lakes beneath the peaks

Now if hunting keeps you busy

Our thin air may leave you dizzy

So be sure that’s not a local in your sights

Enjoy nature and its features

But if feeding baby creatures

Just remember all you tourists, mama bites

If you’re camping, there are black bears

You won’t see them from your time-shares

And the rental prices tend to make you cough

You’ll need permits for your Lugers

There are moose and there are cougars

So your Luger is to only scare them off

Come for rafting, come for fishing

Awesome views will leave you wishing

That your boss will let you stay another day

From Maroon Bells to Lake Estes

We're aware that God has blessed us

But we worry if you come you’ll wanna stay
