His heart was full of scars before I ever had it,

So he cut mine up too and now I’m an addict.

I still remember the smoke from the night that we met,

I find myself missing it’s smell on his breath.

Marlboro blues pull hard at my heart,

You always liked the Reds, I couldn’t tell them apart.

Thought I’d left you deep down in the past,

Didn’t know I’d see you again, didn’t know I’d fall this fast.

We’re always torn apart by a life that’s too hard,

Like we’re only held together by Smoke Rings in The Dark.

We both want more than the other can give,

But I’ll be chasing those Marlboro blues as long as I live.
