A Quiet Place

~ A Poem

My feet hit the ground

Sometime this a.m.

Who knows when

I haven't stopped all-day

Problems solved

Stories told

Bandaged knees

Teary eyes wiped dry

Now it's time

To settle down

Warm blanket

Wrapped around my shoulders

And a cup of tea

A leather-bound book

Snuggled next to me

I close my eyes and wonder

What the pages

Have in store for me

Tonight
