This is a sonnet about what the heroes of the Stonewall

I will use The Village People’s “Sleazy” because it’s my favourite song of theirs and it is very in your face and sometimes the straight world needs that.

I wrote a copy of the poem out for @StreetwiseNorth at Northern Pride 2022 which you can see below along with the video that I took

You should not have to dare to be different

You should not have to fight to be who you are

You stood up as cops attacked the Stonewall bar

And gave us our bright rainbow environment

Thanks To You , Boys Can Love Boys , Girls Can Love Girls

Thanks To You , Men Can Wear Dresses with no fear

Make up too and look outrageously so queer

Your rainbows bring joy and brightness to our world

Pride Parades , Rainbows , The Joy of being GAY

Good as You, We are all one, you made us see

Make this world a brighter safer rainbow place

The Pride of Lions brought us here and that is ACE
