Dear Moon: A Tribute to Our Constant Celestial Companion

Dear Moon,

You drift across the silken quilt of night

A pale lantern hung beyond my window sill,

Casting quiet silver on the world below—

Tonight, I speak to you with open heart and still.

I marvel at your calm—your ancient glow,

That glides through time when shadows stretch and fade.

You watch the tides, you cradle dreams unsaid,

And in your gentle light, the restless wanderers wade.

Do you remember when I whispered my fears,

And you answered with a crescent grin so high?

Softly, you listened to the thumping of my chest,

And lent me solace beneath your silver sky.

Your face has changed—once full, now thin, then full again—

A cycle of becoming, of releasing, of return.

In your phases, I see the echoes of our lives:

We multiply, we wane, we glow again, we yearn.

Tonight I lay my hopes upon your paleest beam:

That I might grow as you do, through the dark and through the light.

Teach me your patience, your everlasting grace,

As I drift in your orbit, caught between day and night.

Dear Moon, when the world sleeps and the city hushed to breath,

I thank you for your watch, your silent, tender keep.

And as you climb into the sky, I trace your path with wonder—

A letter sealed by starlight, yours to hold while I sleep.

With admiration under your orb’s soft gleam,
