I struggle to talk when my tongue gets all tired

cause it can’t keep up with a brain poorly wired

my words can’t be spoken in the way that’s required

a tangled of lips making this tale uninspired

.

They say a poem is birthed when the words are thus spoken

but it's hard to express when my tongue was born broken

a mind full of rhythm becomes a worthless token

when I can’t say what I feel is a stanza unbroken

.

My thoughts and emotions litter the page

cause with my thoughts written down I sound like a sage

these words being just print will never assuage

that poem’s desire to be spoken on stage

.

So, thank you for listening and playing along

as I struggle to read and sing you this song

hopefully nothing I wrote here came out too wrong

to read on this stage, makes this poet belong

I could relate to this poem 100% especially that first line! Sometimes I just think faster than the words can come out and it gets all jumbled! Thank you sharing!
