A National Boyfriend Day Poem
It's a big step in a relationship

Before you become a husband
You have to pass the “boyfriend test,
And miraculously, I’ve done it four times,
Something I would have never guessed.
My friends would wager on the number of dates that I’d have
And I, myself, was beginning to wonder.
They set an over & under betting line at three
And all the action came in on the under.
You could say I was socially awkward,
An understatement at the very least.
And though I wanted to be a boyfriend,
Because of it the odds greatly decreased.
But I can cook and write poetry,
Those are valuable boyfriend skills.
And I as I gained relationship experience
I learned how to give a gal boyfriend thrills.
I have to say that I’m at my best
In two rooms in the house
So if you’re good in the kitchen and bedroom
You might go from boyfriend to spouse.
I did – four times!
