The Waiting Rainbow

"The Waiting Rainbow"

Written by Marisa Laurelle Love

For all the colors of the Rainbow

there's a sound that can't be named

we call it Red or Orange or Purple

thinking colors can be tamed

"I'm so much more than Blue, you see-

what color would YOU wish to be?"

A Green, and Yellow; Indigo?

Quick! Pick one, b'fore they all go!

It makes you think,

"can't I be Pink?"

Ponder this, and you will find

to be just one, is to be blind

"Pick me, pick me..."

The Rainbow sings

"You need us ALL to find your wings.

We all take turns

we have days off

Even Rainbows need rest;

it's how we stay soft!

Our Power is better together, it's True-

Green wouldn't be Green

if there wasn't a Blue!

Open your eyes

from the inside, out-

You'll always find your Rainbow waiting,

right there

behind the clouds.

About the Creator

Marisa Laurelle

Hi! My name's Marisa. Really, it is. And it's pronounced like "Lisa"- Mareeesa. It's hard for people, I'm not sure why that is.:)

Anyways- I like to write, sing, dance, and explore the inner and outer worlds as much as possible. Birds rule.
