A moment of kindness
a poem and a plum pie recipe I cannot remember
At the supermarket,
picking up some fruit like a responsible adult,
a lovely old lady struck up a conversation
and shared her favourite plum pie recipe.
Among the bustling aisles
of people rushing to tick off items on their grocery list,
what captured her attention
inspired her to impart such a personal tidbit to me?

Author's note: I regret to admit that despite my efforts, I do not remember this plum recipe. I wonder how this nice lady is doing, and I hope she's doing okay during these troubled times. I hope she's continuing to bake delicious plum pies for her loved ones.

Thank you to Sue Goyette & #PoetryInVoice for this poem prompt! (24 JUL 2020 prompt)
Write an eight-line poem. The first two lines are about a location/season/setting. The next two are from an overheard conversation you have collected in your notebook or something you heard that day that struck you. The next two lines, more description about that location/season/setting, and the last two lines, a question you want to ask about either the overheard conversation, the location/season/setting, or the poem in general.
