A Mind Torn Apart

A poem about Borderline Personality Disorder

By Cai FoxPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

In the depths of my soul, a storm brews,

Waves crashing against the walls I build.

A fleeting moment of peace, then....

It’s gone,

Like the sunset swallowed by the night.

I wear my heart on my sleeve,

But the seams unravel with every breath.

I reach out, desperate for your love,

But I fear it’s a mirage, fading fast.

Shifting tides of anger,

Lashing out with words I don’t mean,

I can’t stop the flood,

A river of rage that drowns my reason.

Do you see me?

Truly,

Deeply,

or

Only the reflection of your desire?

One minute, I’m your everything..

The next, I’m a ghost of my former self.

I am both the fire and the ash,

A soul torn between extremes,

I love too fiercely,

And I hurt too quietly.

I crave your closeness,

Yet push you away with trembling hands.

A paradox of yearning,

Torn between fear and desire.

In the silence of my mind,

I plead with the pieces of me

To find solace in their shattered form,

To rebuild, to heal, to breathe.

But some scars never fade,

Some wounds never heal,

And I am left with this heart

Unfinished,

Unwhole.

Yet my heart is still beating.
