a million shades of brown

skin deep

By sandra sanchez palaciosPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

It is so simple.

i was born like you

you were born under a blue sky

with or without gun powder grey clouds

with our mothers within or about

you a boy me a girl or maybe both and perhaps none

the sun shade me down and brighten you up

we were no longer colorblind -but just blind.

The thing is,

what we see it is not what it is

but just a mirage

i find my self in this tunnel with no light in sight

when i long to walk in a golden path

-with you-

it takes us to no rainbow or mountain high

instead, we find ourselves in a deep purple ink within:

a different map for each 7.9 billion of us

we travel

beyond skin deep

in a silver river of dreams

i am no shade

but only light
