A Lover’s Home
A man once said to me…

A man said to me once:
“I want to feel at home when I find her.”
And I love this.
Because don’t we all
want to feel at home as we fall?
Especially when you know
what home truly is to you.
Beyond the conditioned patterns
that feel familiar
but untrue to who
You’re trying to birth through
as the next greatest version of you.
What I’m not sure he realized in that moment
is that a home is something built by two.
A home is made through
every brick laid
from a tough conversation.
A home is created through each nail hammered into the wall
with a depth of curiosity
that makes anyone fall
into wider consideration.
A home is made from warm open doors
on the ugliest of cold nights
where demons wash upon
subconscious shores.
A home is something willingly built together.
Through stones of truth
laid one by one.
Around the alter of the hope
that this love, will be an enduring one.
