A Light in the Darkness!

When I was young I knew you, I felt you everywhere .

Your kisses in the sun rays & Your Spirit in the air.

Oh, to be so innocent, life without a care.

Every night, I'd close my eyes and say a little prayer.

I wandered in the dark forest and couldn't find you there.

I was too young to understand, the signs said to beware.

They took me by the hand and said,” Love, we are not the ones who share.”

And every time I tried to leave, the pain was far too much to bare.

So, there is where I spent my life. Trapped in anger & despair.

The Prince of Darkness molded me, promised I would be the heir.

“You could have it all”, he said, “as long as to me, your life you swear.”

“Now dip the pen into the blood and to me your soul declare!”

That’s when the attacks on my life embarked, attempting to ensnare.

And might even be around the time, my mind began to tear.

My poor dear heart hangs on their wall, just like a souvenir.

I close my eyes real tight & pray but they’ll never disappear.

Sometimes, I look up to the sky and vaguely see a light.

They see the glimmer in my eye & lock me up just out of spite.

“To those who’ve tried to leave us, we’re not known to be polite!”

That’s what they keep repeating in the whispers of the night.

I feel my soul on fire, I have blisters from their bites.

Making wagers for my essence, just like a game of dice.

They’re looking at me laughing while screaming, ”Name the price!”

“You’re never getting out of here, don’t make me tell you twice!”

I started looking for an exit, praying, ”God, please save my life!”

Then from deep within, I heard a voice, ”I can make your spirit rife”

“You can release those demons, all you have to do is write.”

“Everything that has been hidden, will now come into sight.”

“They’ll no longer control you & that brings those monsters fright.”

“Though, you must never walk back near there. Not even just a slight!”

“Because, if you get too close then you're right back in their might!”
