A Fuck You & A Thank You.

πŸ€πŸ–€ But for the love of Strangers.

You do not know us

Beyond our words

That beat with our hearts

Have not born witness

To anguish and-

Pain

And impossible struggle

Those who watched us grow

Fail

Grow

Fail again

Renew

And be renewed

You, stranger

Have never used the words

Anything you need

Call me if you're in trouble

You do not know us

Beyond our beating heart

Words

Yet your hearts reached out

With a humanity

That showed us a fairy tale

Humanity

Our closest do not wield

With their spidey senses

and fake give a damns

they held us close

until we were too much

we aren't too much

well, maybe a little

maybe they're numb

that changes nothing

they live

in amongst

the shattered

Porcelain of betrayal

Sad realizations

That love

That loyalty

Are in word only

But there you were

Hands of strangers

Lifting us up

you do not know us

yet you cared enough

to hold our precious hearts

Close

More than them

Yet

You do not know us

They say they know us

If you're ever in trouble

We thought

We knew them.

Thank you.

And fuck you.

Simultaneously.

As One.

You always succeed at breaking my heart: skillfully, rhythmically and beautifully. I feel the rejection, I can see the darkness, I can hear the irony and smell the frustration. Sometimes this world is an awful place to be, and sometimes it's great until it's not again. Your poem outlined this in a way that is easy to digest, and you've got such an incredible mind that I am just in awe, always. πŸ‘ŒπŸΎπŸ€—β€οΈ

Oof, that's raw, powerful, and honestβ€”a heartfelt "thank you" wrapped in a sharp "how dare you." Strangers showing up when "your people" don’t? That hits. Duality at its realest.

  • Sobbing: I do understand. Watching "those" who are supposed to love us, unconditionally fall like dead flies in winter's windowsill. Peaking at us without a heart, polite guilt? Yes, fuck them!

  • Shattered porcelain of betrayal, I especially loved that!

Similarly to what's already been said - this is beautifully penned and I hat that you've had that experience. I guess we all have at some point... but sucks that strangers or relative strangers will be the supportive ones and those closest who should by default, are just not there!

Love this and loathe it in equal measure. It's heartbreaking when people aren't there for you - especially when they're close family or friends. Wishing you all the best.

This is beautifully written, but God damn it sucks when people have to be that way - especially the closest ones. πŸ€—

This is a lovely poem, I imagined it being read with shouts at certain points for emphasis, I’m not sure if you meant it that way, but it was great!

Great Poem. Yet you cared enough to hole our precious hearts close. Profound and nicely done!!
