A Foggy Mess...

A poem

A foggy mess, barely visible, sauntering by.

Dragging their feet through the mud, making even more of a mess of the situation.

Crumbling at the thought of their imprint on their surroundings. If only they could see.

Look past the trees to see the forest. Your rain cloud very likely is only covering your own head. No matter how many times someone tells you, you'll still be a foggy mess.

The neighbor's cat hisses at you as you walk past on the sidewalk. There's a huge puddle blocking your way.

Then, finally, you look up only to find your destination closed.

What now? Why this? Why you?

It's not you. No one is out to get you.

Move onto the next place. It's just down the street.

Jump over that puddle. It won’t hurt you.

Ignore the cat. Appreciate the person who stopped to open the door for you.

You might be a foggy mess, but that doesn't mean you can't choose to be something else.

Look past all the faults and flourish in the new world you've made for yourself.
