A Drop in My Ocean

A moment in my life

A Drop in My Ocean

You were a moment meant to pass,

a simple wave upon my shore,

yet somehow you became the tide,

that moved the deepest part of me.

One touch from you became a shift,

a quiet change I couldn’t see,

and soon the calm I used to hold,

became a restless open sea.

Your presence lingered in my thoughts,

a drop turned into something wide,

and all the waters in my chest,

began to move with gentler pull.

I didn’t see the change at first,

I only felt the drifting start,

but every breath that followed you,

reshaped the current of my world.

You weren’t meant to stay so long,

yet here you are in every wave,

and all the tides that rise in me,

still carry hints of who you are.

A single moment grew in size,

and left its pattern in my mind,

a soft reminder that the small,

can touch the largest parts of us.

So now I let the waters flow,

I let them move in their own time,

for even when the tide pulls back,

your drop still rests within my sea.

I could see the ocean with the comings and goings. Good job.
