A Dream that Haunts

A poem, vivid dreams

Vivid

I think

The color

of their eyes

and the breath

we both take in

Vivid

I can feel

taste

smell

Vivid

I want to stay

They are real

Vivid

I grasp

trying to create

the memory

of a place

a time

a person

that doesn’t exist

a figment

Vivid

I wake up

disappointed

The other side

of the bed

cold

Vivid

I expected

I hoped for warmth

Vivid

I get caught

up, a familiar

face but its just their eyes

a familiar touch but

its just kind

a familiar shape but its

just someone who

stands tall like

them

Vivid

a dream that haunts

So glad I got to read this one! I love the shortness of the lines to SD impact and a "vivid" image. Well done!
