A Choice

In memory of one of the greatest men to walk this Earth.

He sat inside his darkness

Sheilded by the light

The soft glow that consumed him

Deep into the night

His bones a broken place

Yet perfectly in tact

The love he shared

Could heal this world

A shame God took him back

His demons gripped him tightly

The sorrow below him pooled

But the life that left

On the road that day

Was a life consumed by

The cruel

They prayed upon his pain

Though his actions

Remain his own

They left him there to die

That day

And shattered several homes

Addiction claimed the very friend

That helped me to forget

That the pain I feel

Is only new

And never sullen debt

So tonight I stare among the stars

And stop to think of you

Oh Tyler Drew

If you only knew

The life you left behind
