A Child in the well

"Deliverance"

By JACKPublished 3 years ago 1 min read
a child in the well

A child in the well, oh what a fright

Alone in the darkness, no end in sight

Crying for help, but no one to hear

Lost in the depths, consumed by fear

The echoes of his sobs fill the air

As he clings to hope, in despair

Cold and wet, shivering with dread

Dreaming of the sun, and his warm bed

But as the night wears on, his hope grows thin

Wondering if anyone will ever find him

His tears fall down, and he starts to pray

Hoping that help will come his way

And then, a glimmer of light, far up above

A rescuer's hand, reaching down with love

Lifting him up, out of the deep

Into the arms of those who weep

Safe and sound, back in the world of light

The child in the well, no longer in fright

Forever grateful for those who heard

And saved him from the well, and his lonely world.
