A blue bird in my heart

Inspired by Bluebird by Charles Bukowski

By Kallie VenturiniPublished about a year ago 1 min read

There’s a blue bird in my heart, it’s wants to come out. But can I handle the songs it will sing, I’m not sure so I keep it cage up deep within me. Theres a blue bird in my heart, it pulls on my strings and wants me to sing its songs of love and grief. Blue birds are magical and deep, sometimes I want to fly and sing. But I keep the blue bird locked deep inside of me . For it knows songs of my soul I’m not ready to sing. There’s a blue bird in my heart who is waiting on me to let it free. Maybe I will one day, let it free, let it sing, let it be. I’ll always have blue birds deep inside of me.
