I heard today

The universe is an infinite garden of forking paths

I sat and thought about that

How it sums it all up so well

How it’s both accurate and flat

As an explanation

Of all we go through

Who am I?

Who are you?

Are you the hero

Or the villain

Nobody is the villain in their mind

Unless they can unwind the lies they tell themselves

But their minds won’t hear it

Because their ego deafens them to the sound

Of their conscience

Just for one more chance

To feel dominant
