A poem

.

Just like any other day, the sun shone brightly in the sky. It was one of the few things in this world that was still innocent and pure.

Peeking its warm rays through the passing cool clouds. For the first time this year, it was going to feel like spring.

It was still early in the morning, you could hear people leaving off to work. The coffee smell filled the open space around the house, waking everyone up slowly but surely.

One after the other each person started their morning ritual, unbothered by the other.

Lunches are prepared.

Hair is brushed.

Shoes are tied.

Breakfast is being finished, and bags are collected.

It was like a well-oiled machine, each and every one of them.

One right after the other.

It was time.

.

The air felt cool to the touch but quickly relished in its humidity, leaving us uncomfortably warm and layered with dew.

We laughed and played for what felt like hours, only to cut everything so short.

The bell rang uncontrollably and that familiar voice came on the intercom.

My day was just beginning.

.

Two days left.

The next chapter in my life was only two days away. The next chapter for all of us.

It vanished quicker than it could've ever arrived.

.

A knock.

A crash.

A bang.

.
