Caesium and the Great Hunt

It was a small measure of a great deadly touch;

I wondered about it,

that small mining element

in that perfect Outback.

Do Australians know what they have?

*

Hide and Seek

*

I wondered about its silvery-blue charm

(some reports concerned with

size and strength called it

“death on a dime”),

lost by one account,

found by unknown means.

Do they know what they have?

*

Hidden and Sought

*

I wondered about friends down there,

old names and the new one

I should have reviewed

(some old experience

with science returned

back to me). Out there,

a small deadly touch made to measure,

a little shake to our world.

*

Hide, hide, hide…

Dated and Dangerous...

I enjoyed the reflection on how public stories spark private wonderings.
