What the HUSKY

BLOO'S ADVENTURES

Just a quick sketch of Bloo

Day 1:

Our family has been slowly looking to get a dog or more specifically a puppy for a little while now but today would be the day that our search ended. It was about 9pm and I had just finished helping my daughter with a project of hers, when my husband started yelling at me from the bathroom. Naturally, I went running in there, thinking something was wrong; only to find him sitting on the porcelain throne, talking about "Get the kid ready, we're going to Ontario." I was speechless. Finally, after the shock wore off, I asked, "Why exactly are we going to Ontario and 9pm?" My husband responded, "This lady agreed to give us a husky for $450, look babe they are perfect and it's a great price, come on it's perfect." He was acting like a kid in a candy shop. Let me just say by the way, I really did not want a puppy puppy because of how much work they are. I already have 4 kids, 5 if you count my husband, work, school and try to find a little time for myself. But, per usual i gave in quickly and by 9:45pm we were on the road to Ontario.

Finally, we make it out to this ladies house and now it's about 11pm. So, at 11pm at night, my daughter, husband and I are standing in these people's front yard trying to decide between the two dogs they have left and which one is coming home with us. We all came to an agreement, paid the lady and were headed for home. At this point, we had no idea what we were going to name her, so we just started throwing ideas around. My daughter had commented about how blue her eyes were and my husband said, “ Your my boy blue” and she responded so we started calling her Blue and she kept responding. However, she does not always answer to it. From the gate I could tell that she was very independent and absolutely too smart for her own good. This adventure with blue is definitely going to be interesting and one for the books.

We finally made it home and blue was nervous but she all in all seemed okay. My husband and I had discussed prior to getting the dog, that it would not be sleeping in any of the rooms and it would have only the living room to roam. That lasted all of about until we got in the house and saw that it was almost 2 in the morning. So, what do we do? That's correct, we caved and let the puppy sleep with my daughter in her bed. While it seemed like a good idea at 2am, half asleep and only thinking about my warm and cozy bed; i would find out in the coming days that it would be an unwise choice on my part. We tucked in the kids and went to bed with not a care in the world. All this nonsense about puppies crying at night and having to use the restroom in the middle of the night was just a tall tale that parents told kids to keep them at bay about wanting a puppy; or so i thought. The last thing I told my husband before we drifted off to sleep that night was, “ I’m really glad we decided to get her, she seems like an easy pup; I think we lucked out.” My husband replied, “See babe, I told you that it would be just fine and puppies are not that hard to deal with.” Boy, oh boy, would we come to enjoy eating those words in a few days.

Day 1: Completed and a Success! Day 2: pending………..

Just like the kids....Angels while they sleep!
