Meet Gnocchi, my beloved English Bulldog, who has a larger-than-life personality packed into a squat, muscular frame. Gnocchi is obsessed with an array of peculiar things: from balls that he chases with the enthusiasm of a puppy, to plush sloths that he cuddles with as if they were his best friends. He’s even got a thing for pool noodles, which he drags around the house like they’re his prized possessions. But above all, Gnocchi’s greatest love is food. This boy is always hungry, no matter how elaborate or frequent his meals.

Feeding Gnocchi has always been a bit of an adventure. He’s had a set routine for as long as I can remember: freeze-dried lamb jerky kibble, which, as you can imagine, is far too rich to be served as an entire meal on its own. To balance it out, I’ve had to supplement it with white rice, fresh tilapia, and sweet potato. Sure, Gnocchi adored this mix, but it was an ordeal to prepare, especially during those hectic weekday mornings when I’m scrambling to get out the door.
